    (Please make sure all items are labelled clearly, thank you).

Dropping Off and Collecting Your Child:

There is no parking for parents on our school site. Please do not park in School Lane, as this is a private road (you may receive a fine) or in the parking spaces for the flats on the corner of Waterloo Road or Somerstown Flats, or across driveways in Beechworth Road.

There is permitted street parking for a limited period around the school as well as provision provided by Havant Borough Council through our Park and Stride Scheme below:

Park and Stride Scheme

We encourage families to walk to school whenever possible and use our Park and Stride Scheme at the following locations:

Prince Georges Street Car Park,

East Pallant Car Park

Town End House Car Park (HBC spaces only NOT LiveLink Private car park spaces).

These car parks are available FREE to Fairfield and Bosmere parents/carers between the times:

8.20am to 9.00am (for morning school run) and 2.50pm to 4pm (for afternoon collection).

Park and Stride is applicable in TERM TIME ONLY and does not apply during school holidays and school closure days. You do not need to display anything.

Park and Stride from Tesco, Solent Road is also available to parents/carers, but the Meridian Centre Car Park is NOT included in the Park and Stride scheme.

We appreciate that not all children/adults are able to walk the whole way to school due to reasons such as distance and parent/carer work commitments. However, the Park and Stride scheme enables parents/carers to walk their children to school and park their car a short distance from school at one of the Park and Stride car parks and walk the rest of the way with their child/children. We ask as many of you to support and use this scheme to keep our children safe and healthy.

For any questions, please contact the school office on 02392 483029 or email adminoffice@fairfield-infant.co.uk.

Attendance

Pupils need to attend school regularly to benefit from their education.  Missing out on lessons leaves children vulnerable to falling behind.  The government expects:

Schools and local authorities to:

  • Promote good attendance and reduce absence, including persistent absence;
  • Ensure every pupil has access to full-time education to which they are entitled;
  • Act early to address patterns of absence.

  • Parents to perform their legal duty by ensuring their children of compulsory school age who are registered at school attend regularly.
  • All pupils to be punctual to their lessons.

When children start at Fairfield parents/carers are asked to sign the Home School Agreement which includes the responsibility to:

  • Make sure that your child comes to school safely, on time, refreshed, alert, correctly dressed, ready to learn and take part in school activities and abide by our Attendance Policy.

As a school it is our duty to strive for 100% attendance for all children.  However, the school has no difficulty with genuine reasons for absence and there may be circumstances that prevent your child from maintaining regular attendance at school . In such cases the school fully support parents/carers and can offer help in a number of ways, these are detailed in the Attendance Policy.

Attendance and punctuality in school is monitored every half-term and there are a number of standard letters parents/carers can receive when their child's attendance falls below the expected minimum of 96% and/or children are late on 3 or more occasions.  In the majority of cases this will simply be a matter of courtesy to inform parents of their child's attendance percentage after a bout of illness.
