We welcome community, parent and carer volunteers to support in school.
The majority of our volunteers read individually with pupils or play games to support mathematical concepts, language or reading, but there are many different ways in which parents can help in schools – on an ad hoc or regular basis. These include:
There are also more official ways to volunteer at your child’s school, for instance by joining the PTA or offering your services as a Governor although these won’t necessarily involve much (or any) direct work with children.
Fairfield Infant School is a ‘Safer Recruitment School’ and committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and all appointments will be subject to rigorous and appropriate vetting checks.

In line with Hampshire County Council guidance we request that volunteers obtain DBS disclosures on an annual basis.
If you would like to volunteer please contact the admin office on: adminoffice@fairfield-infant.co.uk and they will pass your information on to Mrs Cook ,our SENCO who deals with placing volunteers around the school. She will be able to answer any queries you may have.
Mrs O’Neill our Admin Officer deals with the application process and DBS and she will guide you through this process.
