ALL children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a meal, free of charge, under the UIFSM programme and registration is not required.

See what's on the menu this week or download a copy to print at home. Our menus work on a three-week cycle to make sure there is variety and choice.

All our menus are reviewed by dietitians and follow the School Food Plan.

Packed Lunches

At Fairfield we continually promote a healthy lifestyle, encouraging all pupils to take part in increased levels of activity and make healthy food choices.  Bars of chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks are not permitted in school, or to be taken on school visits.

We have a small number of children in school that may have an extreme reaction to any nut products in their immediate environment.  For this reason please do not send any nuts/nut products/peanut butter sandwiches etc. to school with your child for lunch.

WE ARE A NUT FREE SCHOOL

Fruit and Vegetables at School

If your child is aged 4 to 6 and attends a fully state-funded infant, primary or special school in England, they're entitled to receive a free piece of fruit or vegetable each school day.

That provides 1 of their 5 A Day portions, and the scheme also helps to increase awareness of the importance of eating fruit and vegetables, encouraging healthy eating habits that can be carried into later life.

Teachers find that distributing the fruit in class groups helps to encourage a sharing, calm, social time.

It also allows them to incorporate the scheme into teaching and learning.

Cool Milk  - Our school milk scheme

Our school provides a milk scheme that is available to all of our pupils and we would like to invite you to register your child.  School milk is free for under-5s, and for over-5s it is available at a subsidised* price of 22p per day.

Each child that registers with Cool Milk will receive a 189ml portion of semi-skimmed milk every day, delivered fresh and chilled to the classroom.  Their school milk will not only provide them with essential nutrients, but as it is rehydrating and energy boosting it also bridges the gap between breakfast and lunch to help children stay focused. For more information on how milk can benefit children visit www.coolmilk.com/why-milk-is-great.

How to register

If your child is under five:

  • Register online at www.coolmilk.com or complete the registration form in your registration pack.
  • Free milk will continue until the Friday before your child’s fifth birthday, unless you notify us otherwise.
  • After this time you will need to pay for your child’s milk if you wish them to continue after their fifth birthday.
