I am both a parent and grandparent, with a keen interest in education and ensuring children get the best possible start in life.  I have previous experience as a lecturer in Business Administration and IT, and currently work for a high street bank, in customer service and management, and am qualified as a Personal Banker.  I joined the governing body in September 2017 and was subsequently elected as Chair of Governors in October 2019.  I have a very strong interest in supporting my local community and utilising my life experiences to assist the school in developing a strong learning environment.

In December 2020, I also joined the Governing Body at Woodcroft Primary School, as a Co-opted Governor.

I have two children who attend Fairfield, I believe that a good education and a happy school experience are the most important factors in a child's development. It is important as a parent to support our children's learning environment. I have become a school governor to play an active role in helping the school and fulfil its full potential. I have worked in local government for over 10 years with a strong background in health and safety and can therefore bring a range knowledge and experience which can enhance and support the governing body.

After working in IT and marketing for a decade, I returned to education and studied an Early Childhood degree as well as being level 3 Makaton trained. I hold a keen interest in the theory behind play and how learning through play should be encouraged throughout our educational journeys, including higher and further education! I am currently training on a PGCE to be a primary school teacher which I am thoroughly enjoying! I hope the knowledge I gain can be put to good use for Fairfield's community. I have lived locally all my life and have a family and community connection to the school, I am passionate about making a difference and aiding the school in being the best it can be.
