The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Act as an approachable first-point of contact for advice and general enquiries 
  • Process correspondence and provide administrative support including supporting with admissions and end of year procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguarding in line with school policy and procedure at all times, reporting all concerns in a timely manner to an appropriate person
  • Produce and complete the publication of school communications and documentation in a range of formats as provided by the headteacher and other leaders 
  • Collate registers including for extra-curricular activities and act as a key initial point of contact for the wrap-around care provider and other stakeholders 
  • Assist teachers with communications, permission forms, and payments for visits, clubs and events.
  • Work with other members of the administrative team to further promote the school in the wider community, providing a point of contact for designated stakeholders
  • Monitor stock control including processing of basic orders as appropriate under the supervision of the senior administrative officer
  • Undertake welfare support to pupils, including the provision of first aid as a First Aider when trained and administration of medication as required

Salary Details: Grade A (£12.17 per hour) approx. £3,174 per annum

We are looking to appoint a kind, caring and friendly lunchtime supervisory assistant who enjoys working with young children.  

 

You would be welcomed into our highly inclusive team at Fairfield where everyone is committed to making the lunchtime experience highly positive, enjoyable and supportive for every child.

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Supports the values, ethos and overall vision of our school where Everyone is Valued and Learning is Fun
  • Is a strong team player who is able to communicate well with children and adults
  • Is flexible and adaptable within the role and able to follow our policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children at all times

Duties will include:

  • Supervising children in the dining hall, encouraging good manners and promoting healthy eating 
  • Actively promoting positive play including supporting the development of children’s social skills through their play both outdoors and inside
  • Promoting good hygiene and carrying out basic first aid
  • Building positive relationships with the children in your care including encouraging them to take a full and active part in school life 

We can offer full training and are dedicated to the training and development of all our team members.  Many members of our lunchtime team have furthered their experiences of working with children across other roles in the school.

  • Support the team in reviewing the progress of pupils

  • Contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team

  • Offer a fair and consistent approach to managing individual needs in line with school policies and procedures

  • Prepare and organise resources

  • Communicate regularly with parents and with wider agencies
