Salary Type:  Support Staff

Salary Details:  Grade D £18,114 - £19,988

Hours of Work:  Monday to Friday 25 hours per week ideally to include morning and afternoon split shifts, 44 weeks per year (hours negotiable)

Job/ Person Summary

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, proactive and genuinely caring person who will take a real pride in seeking to achieve the highest of standards in the quality of our  school environment.  We are committed to ensuing all our children are safe, secure and well-supported. We seek a site manager who can work in a highly autonomous way, adapting to changing situations, prioritising Health, Safety and Security and leading and supporting the cleaning team to consistently maintain the highest of standards.

  • Is practical, has good problem-solving skills and the capacity to work on own initiative when required
  • Has excellent communication skills and is flexible and adaptable
  • Has knowledge, skills and previous experience in general maintenance and decoration

 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Act as a principle key holder for the building and site on a daily basis
  • Ensure all Health and Safety and compliance requirements are met (inside and outside)
  • Supervise and lead the training and development of a team of cleaning staff and undertake some daily cleaning duties
  • Take responsibility for the ordering and safe storage of all cleaning materials and equipment
  • Carry out general porterage duties and some working at height
  • Draw up and manage a general maintenance and cleaning programme to include deep cleaning, painting, decoration and maintenance of the building including during school holiday periods
  • Ensure the school grounds are well-maintained
  • Attend training contributing specifically to your role and school development
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with  contractors, organise lettings and report to senior leaders and governors
