Road Safety Week and Be Bright, Be Seen Day

IT'S ROAD SAFETY WEEK THIS WEEK...

Monday 29th November  2021— Friday 3rd December

We will be highlighting Road Safety Awareness in class and school assemblies this week culminating on Friday 3rd December with a Be Bright, Be Seen day

Friday 3rd December is Be Bright, Be Seen Day and we are asking our children to wear their brightest clothes into school, the brighter the better to make themselves more visible when walking, scooting and cycling near the road...

We will be giving out reflective wrist bands and bike spoke reflectors for the “Brightest Dressed Child in each class” along with reflective items for every child who participates in this event and we will feature winners on our Newsletter, Website and  Facebook page!

Modeshift Stars

Modeshift STARs (Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition Scheme) is the national awards scheme that recognises schools that have shown excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel.  It is recognised as the National School Travel Awards scheme.

Last year Fairfield Infant School achieved the BRONZE Award Accreditation for our actions in and around the school in encouraging more pupils to walk, scoot or ride to school. This coming year we aim to achieve even more and obtain our Silver Award by completing more positive actions in  active travel to and from school.
