Caretaker

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, proactive and enthusiastic person to join our Fairfield Team. We are committed to ensuing all our children are safe, secure and well-supported. Through their caretaking role, we are looking for someone who takes a real pride in our school, prioritises Health, Safety and Security and leads and supports the cleaning team to consistently maintain the highest of standards.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Open, close and make secure the building and site on a daily basis
- Ensure all Health and Safety and compliance requirements are met (inside and outside)
- Supervise a team of cleaning staff and undertake some daily cleaning duties
- Take responsibility for the ordering and safe storage of all cleaning materials and equipment
- Carry out general porterage duties and some working at height
- Draw up and manage a general maintenance and cleaning programme to include deep cleaning, painting, decoration and maintenance of the building during school holiday periods
- Ensure the school grounds are well-maintained
- Attend training contributing specifically to your role and school development

Learning Support Assistant

We are looking to appoint a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant who shows the determination to make a real difference to all children including those with specific learning needs. Joining our highly inclusive team at Fairfield Infant School, we are focused on ensuring our children are very well-supported to develop their communication and interaction skills to embrace the best opportunities which will establish them as happy and independent life-long learners.

- Work with groups of children including providing specific support and intervention under the direction of the class teacher

- Support the team in reviewing the progress of pupils
- Contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
- Offer a fair and consistent approach to managing individual needs in line with school policies and procedures
- Prepare and organise resources
- Communicate regularly with parents and with wider agencies

We are looking to appoint a kind, caring and friendly lunchtime supervisory assistant who enjoys working with young children.
You would be welcomed into our highly inclusive team at Fairfield where everyone is committed to making the lunchtime experience highly positive, enjoyable and supportive for every child.

Duties will include:
- Supervising children in the dining hall, encouraging good manners and promoting healthy eating
- Actively promoting positive play including supporting the development of children’s social skills through their play both outdoors and inside
- Promoting good hygiene and carrying out basic first aid
- Building positive relationships with the children in your care including encouraging them to take a full and active part in school life
We can offer full training and are dedicated to the training and development of all our team members. Many members of our lunchtime team have furthered their experiences of working with children across other roles in the school.
