Clever Never Goes
After half term, on the week beginning the 21st June we will be having a “Clever Never Goes” week at school.
“Clever Never Goes” is a programme created in partnership with Hampshire Constabulary that aims to teach children how to react safely to adults around them, including those that they do not know. During the week the children will take part in a range of activities, more information about which will follow after half term. In the meantime, if you wish to find out more about “Clever Never Goes”, please head to their website for more information: www.clevernevergoes.org
Fairfield Infant School will be participating in this week long event organised by the Hampshire School Games Organisers and Energise Me in June.
Each day that week will be themed to support children to develop leadership skills, competitive skill, well-being and encourage pupil voice.
The children will participate in physical activity challenges and Tokyo Olympic themed cross curricular activities, including an exciting event to ‘move a mile in creative ways to circumnavigate the whole world!’
The week will promote 30 minutes of physical activity per day for pupils.
The YouTube video promoting the week can be viewed here:

Fairfield Infant School completed a total of 3734 Journeys with 84.35% school participation. We finished in 75th place in the country and 11th place for the whole of the South East, which is a fantastic achievement. We also won an air pollution monitoring device in the daily prize draws which will be arriving for classroom learning soon…
The children had a great time on the “Amazing Me” day on Friday 30th April and we raised a total of £117.25 towards new scooter pods. We hope you saw the photographs of our dance activities on Facebook and that the children enjoyed the snack bars and class prizes donated by Waitrose.
We recently heard that we have been successful in securing funding for a new scooter pod/s from Hampshire County Council due to our efforts to increase participation in our Park and Stride Schemes and cycle and scooter use at school.
We will let you know when these have been received and installed. More information coming soon...
Thank you all so much for making this event a success!
