Role of a Governor?

What do governors do ?
Our main role as governors is :

  • To provide a strategic view of where the school is heading.
  • To provide support and appropriate challenge to the school.
  • To hold the school to account for the quality of the education it provides.
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of children who are pupils at the school.

See below for a link to a short e-learning programme that answers many of the frequently asked questions about the role of a governor and a copy of 'Your School Governors' leaflet produced to tell you more about the role of Fairfield's Governors.

How to contact the Fairfield governors:
The governors are keen to hear your views and opinions of the school.  Please feel free to approach any of them either in person when they are in school,  via the school office or by email to :  governingbody@fairfield-infant.co.uk
