I have a wealth of governance knowledge and experience gained during this time that which enables me to be an effective member of the Governing body at Fairfield Infant School. Ms Barbara MacNeill - Co-Opted Governor
I care a lot about making a positive impact on a young person’s development, whether it is in academia or even outdoor education. I wish to learn how an individual school system governs and how much hard work goes into such a small community that has a large impact on the everyday life of a child. To make a team contribution in decision-making really appeals to me; I find it very beneficial to learn how people from different backgrounds and experiences try to achieve the same objectives.
I’m currently a Duke of Edinburgh leader at the Havant Open Centre. My first year has been spent being trained up in Safe Guarding, PREVENT and supervising Bronze awards. Now that I am into my second year, I am now trained up in Outdoor First Aid and will be leading the Silver’s into their expedition.

Having always been local and with many of my friends children having been through Fairfield, it’s a school I know well and care about.
Mr Mike Smith - Parent Governor
I have a daughter who attends Fairfield, I believe that a good education and a happy school experience are the most important factors in a child’s development. It is important as a parent to support our children’s learning environment. I have become a school governor to play an active role in helping the school and fulfil its potential. I have worked in local government for over 10 years, with a strong background in health and safety and therefore bring a range knowledge and experience which can enhance and support the governing Body.
